Beginners welcome in all classes.

Basics: What to bring, time, what to wear

  • I have all the equipment (mats etc.) for you to use for your first class – do not purchase equipment if you do not already have it as often the wrong equipment is bought.
  • Due to hygiene matters, particularly since Covid, students are asked to invest in equipment within 4 weeks should you enjoy the classes and wish to continue – you will know by this time.
  • Good quality equipment can be purchased through the yoga school at very competitive rates.
  • Please arrive 20 mins early for your first class.
  • Bring a blanket to retain body heat whilst in relaxation – standard yoga practice.
  • Wear comfortable gym-style clothes – NO JEANS.

Costs and how classes run

Join any time, space permitting and subject to booking.

£34 per person for 4 weeks OR PART THEREOF, depending on when you come into sessions.

A trial session is welcome – £10 – see below for more information. Payments are CASH ONLY. Pay in class.

Classes are offered on a manageable and affordable consecutive 4 weekly rate. There is no long-term commitment.

A simple term fee system means a fair class rate. You have motivation to attend, a guaranteed space each week, sufficient space for comfort and capped numbers for effective teaching with a long-term experienced teacher in good independent venues. You have the added safety of induction and familiarity – I know your goals and why you are attending.

You can also access other classes if you need to change sessions occasionally, knowing a space will be reserved for you… Just come and enjoy.

There is no charge for reserving a space if one is free on enquiry, or getting on the waiting list – EXCEPT JANUARY – see below.

NEW YEAR bookings throughout January ONLY

I strongly advise to book in advance for January – an online non-refundable or transferable deposit of £10pp required for January bookings once a space is offered. Payment details will be provided when a space is offered and accepted – not before.
Equally as above, If in January, on enquiry classes are full, there is no charge for simply getting on the waiting list until a space comes free.
The deposit system is subject to change depending on demand

If you are serious about understanding how yoga can work for you, please get in touch. You may or may not get into class immediately, but people come and go for all sorts of reasons and it is worth getting on the waiting list for a space to become available. You are under no obligation should your circumstances change.

COVID-19  – PLEASE NOTE: Restrictions have now been lifted and masks are optional. You do not have to wear them for exercise anyway, but may feel you wish to wear them when entering and until the class starts. Should the Covid situation alter, information will be given directly to all current students at the time.

COVID-19 Guarantee: Your classes are safe. In the event classes have to close due to any future lockdowns, your unused classes will get carried over to when classes reopen. It is up to you to return and use them. Classes have been running 20 years – since 2002 and survived the pandemic, which saw students eagerly return in May 2021 to enjoy their classes once again.

Can I do one class first, to try it?

Yes you can. A one-off trial session is £10. Cash only. Pay in class. No commitment. Open to any new student regardless of whether you have done yoga before. Booking is still required, space permitting.
If you are unsure a trial session is a great way to have a go, while a trial is welcome it is only a taste! Several classes are recommended to form a fully educated opinion as classes vary in content each week.

What if I can’t attend?

Awaken with Yoga offers a bonus system if you wish to take advantage of it. In the event you may have an OCCASIONAL genuine reason you cannot attend your normal registered class you can ask to switch to any other session during that week.

If you cannot attend ANY class during the course of a week, sessions can be made up by attending 2 sessions in any ONE week you decide. You do not have to make classes up immediately, any missed sessions are open to an honesty box policy, and can be made up any week you decided over the course of a year from when you miss the session. So, there is no pressure. Doing more than one session of yoga a week works at a deeper level and you will really notice the difference. Many people do it and feel the benefits.

The system is generally much respected and works – and mostly people are accommodated week to week. Please consider: many classes and courses charge a block booking but there are no alternatives if you cannot attend. I arrange it from goodwill and although not a right – this is a bonus!

Holiday seasons

There are generous close downs in line with main/school holiday seasons. July/August closure of approximately 3-4 weeks each year and 3 weeks in December around Christmas and New Year.

How to book

Classes are popular and class numbers are capped for your comfort and effective learning; therefore you need to check space availability to see when you can start.

Either email, phone or fill in the contact form on the Contact page.  Please continue reading the How to book page for further essential information.

Questions relating to health matters are not answered on email, please phone. I am more than happy to help you.

Ensuring you get the most out of yoga is my main priority. You are under no obligation to attend if you phone me. Alternatively, have a thorough read of this website; it might answer your questions – go to the About Yoga page. Again, if you are unsure please call me.

Why would you like to call?

People practise yoga for many reasons, as it’s a very healing practice. You may wish to ask questions in relation to a specific health matter personal to you, and to see how yoga can help your particular needs and how suitable it is for you. Please call if you are unsure I am more than happy to help you.
